Download Molecular Dynamics: Theory and Applications 2025

Molecular Dynamics: Theory and Applications by Maurizio Bottoni book pdf download, the courses gave graduate students a basic understanding of numerical techniques that would enable them to deal with problems of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and of molecular dynamics at research level.

The advent of electronic computers has allowed applications of the probabilistic methods of statistic mechanics which had been foreseen by philosophers and mathematicians of the past times as an intellectual, though abstract and unrealizable, achievement of the human mind. The methods of molecular dynamics have shown the applicability of numerical computational techniques as an alternative to the numerical solutions of the earlier well-established Navier-Stokes equations of fluid-dynamics. Besides, molecular dynamics methods became applicable to flows in the range of intermediate and large Knudsen numbers, where the Navier-Stokes equations, based upon the concept of a continuum, fail. Our work explores the successful application of the methods of the statistical Monte Carlo method, in the frame of molecular dynamics, made mainly in the past three decades, to “particles”, which in a generalized sense can coincide either with molecules or cluster of molecules, or with stars or galaxies. The domain of application of the method is thus extended from the micro-cosmos to the macro-cosmos, and to cosmological problems.
